Zumanjaro NEW for SFGAdv in 2014!

It's official! Six Flags announced on 8/28/13 that they will be breaking their own record for tallest vertical drop ride with Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom located at Six Flags Great Adventure. The record is currently held by Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom at Six Flags Magic Mountain with a height of 400 feet, dropping at 85 mph. Zumanjaro will be slightly taller and faster at 415 feet and 90 mph. Now, a lot of controversy had been going on about this before it was announced. Must rumors did suggest that Six Flags Great Adventure would finally recieve a drop tower but it was unsure exactly what it would be like. Six Flags had posted a survey questioning visitors about possible rides for the future and one option did suggest a drop tower attached to Kingda Ka, the tallest roller coaster in the world. Some roller coaster wbesites suggested that it was physically impossible to do this because of the shape of Kinda Ka's structure. Six Flags had previously done the same thing for Lex Luthor by attaching it to the structure of Superman: Escape from Kyrpton, which had a rectangular prism shape. But, Six Flags has possibly found a way to attach these three drop towers to Kingda Ka and I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

10 Years of Top Thrill Dragster

It has already been 10 years since the world's first strata-coaster (400+ ft tall) opened. When Top Thrill Dragster opened at Cedar Point in 2003, it was the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world at 420 ft and 120 mph. Today it is only the second tallest after the creation of the world's only other strata-coaster: Kingda Ka. But still, TTD launches you from 0-120 mph in 3.8 sec and Cedar Point made a special 10th anniversary video to explain just how the ride works.
